About TV3C
The Village Center for Culture & Character, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization dedicated to providing out-of-school and educational travel programs and opportunities that empower and guide the youth in our communities. Our mission is to offer cultural exchange and travel opportunities for future global leaders, serving as a transatlantic bridge fueled by the strength of our shared history.
We strive to foster cultural discovery, understanding, and sharing, while addressing critical issues such as teenage pregnancy and gang affiliation that adversely affect our youth. By offering engaging and educational experiences focused on history and culture exploration, we aim to significantly enhance the well-being of young individuals and the communities we serve, both in the USA and Africa.
Malaja D. Owens Bailey,
Founder & CEO
As a teenage mother who lost several close cousins to the streets of Atlanta, GA,
I was determined to find a source of hope for the youth in my community.
I believed that if they knew their history, it would give them a stronger sense of purpose and a better outlook on life. I quickly realized, however, that there was so much more to this journey. The learning needed to go both ways, expanding in every direction. When cultural education, exchange, sharing, and understanding come together, the possibilities truly become endless!
